SafeHouse, enables women to escape prostitution and build constructive, productive lives. The program provides residency with 24 hour staffing and comprehensive counseling, health, and educational programs. It is one of only five such programs in the US. Given that 70% of the women have suffered long-term incest and 90% have been severely abused as children, the program initially focuses on healing, addressing trauma, addictions, and other psychological issues.

This work of healing plus medical, dental and physical care is essential before we can assess and provide appropriate educational and vocational skills including computer training and money management. After approximately a year, we assist the women in looking for employment and setting up a savings account, which enables them to graduate from SafeHouse and establish independent lives.
